Need a new printer-Sug. please

I need to get a new printer for my home pc. Nothing fancy, just something I can use to print documents, stuff from the internet, tax returns, resume, etc. You got the idea. I am looking at the range of $100-$150. Is this reasonable?

Any suggestions please? Which brand is good in general? Dell? HP? Canon?
