Hello, need help again!

someone said he bought a silimar ibm laptop on ebay and he needs to download a lot of driver software from internet to make it work. Do you think windows 98(chinese version) provides these driver software? if not, can I get them on web for free?? where to get?
also, do laptops use the same software/driver as the desktop PCs?
