Can I ask a question about how I open MOV files

in Computer?
if I use DC to make some moving pictures ( video) , it is MOV file,but
I tried to convert it to MP4 file or mpeg-1, I still can't open it by computer unless
I use newest Real Player or Quick time player but they all not for free.
Please let me if I have another can go .
Today My Chinese software doesn't work and have to use english .
