how come I can not open google chrome

I am curious about chrome. I finished downloading. It did not automatic start the browser. I opened manually by going through program list. It won't open. I tried to uninstall the program. It won't let me. Anybody has similar problem? Seems like a bug to me!!!!!. I am using XP. Help!
