my DVD rom disapear after..

Today i got a VCD, and instert it into my DVD rom.
Right after that, my DVD rom disapear from my computer.
I reboot the machine, no use.
I uninstall my DVD from device manager , and re-install again, no use.
The error message is like this way "Windows cannot load the device driver for
this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)
"
Please help me, i know that DVD still work, because if i insert a CD inside, the light will be on.

Is there any way to get back my DVD rom other than re-install the OS? My WinXP Cd is from DELL, seems it will fomat my machine. And all my data will gone.

Crying now...
