Problems when installing Windows XP Professional over Windows XP

My current OS is Windows XP Media Center Edition. For some reason I have to replace it with Windows XP Professional. However, when I tried to install it from the XP Professional CD, I got a blue screen with an error message, the first line of which says "stop:0x0000007b inaccessible boot device". The rest of the message suggests that I check my hard drive, etc. But when I used the XP Media Center CD, I don't have the problem and can continue with the installation.

What could be the problem? Would greatly appreciate your help!
