The official way is to call the carrier, and wait 3 weeks for an unlocked phone that can only work for a month. The other way is to spend 10 bucks in a local store to help your remove lock permanently.

So, DON'T call the carrier of no help. Find any phone repair store in the mall and ask "can I unlock my phone here? ..."

You could then flash the EPROM to all chinese version if you 'd like to use it in China ... for 50 RMB.
