select your file (highlighted), then click

right button of your mouse, you will see the menu, select "Open with ..." -> select "choose program ...", then will display the applications you installed on your computer, select "Window Media Player"

Window Media Player can play ".dat" file if it is a video file. Like VCD, the video files are .dat type.
