for help:windows xp home logon

I am using Windows XP home in my dell notebook computer. After installing some software, I restarted my computer, I can not enter my desktop but to be asked to enter password. However, I never set password for my account, and I do not have any other accounts in my computer. Did you meet such a problem before? How can I resolve this problem? Appreciaited your answers!
