I changed the CPU and MOBO is fine

I was using AMD k6-III with UW SCSI-80 HD controller,
south bridge is via 686a 512mb pc100 ram award bios

I replaced the super soket 7 mobo with a K7 mobo,
VIA MVP4 and KX133 were employing the same south bridge -- via 686a. So I can swap the mobo without insta again.

Hardware significant changes was made only for the CPU,
so it won't trigger the activation process.
