Hey, have you ever work with good power management in linux?

I am looking for a solution that similar to XP and can automatically change clock speed according to CPU load. But there are not so many resources available. Moreover, I would like to fine tune FID/VID on CPU under linux. Rightnow, change ACPI gives me really bad feeling.
