hardware performance improvement setting conflict?

May be not relevant. I once had a problem with Real player playing a real media file. The image would become black & white. However, if I played the same file with other player, the image was in color. I later found that it was a hardware performance setting that caused the problem (though I still don't know why this could happen). You may want to play with the sound settings in your Real Media Editor.
