回复:高二孩子一心想出国, 拿不准是大学出去好还是读硕士出去比较好,给我一点建议

It is about the cost. If you have enough money, it is better to come here early. You really do not need any other reasons. 而且现在出国很容易啦。你可以自己上学校网站查寻。有问题可以问学校 by emailIf you come to San Diego area, I can help you to pick you up at airport and find a room near University. Please visit my web at www.SDSUHouse4Rent.com for more information. I helped one student from China. He is accepted as a freshman at SDSU (San Diego State University, www.sdsu.edu ) major in biology, but he need to pass his English first at ALI (American Language Institute, www.americanlanguage.org ). I believe you have 6 months to pass the exam, but if you failed first time, you can study another 6 months. (I know one student from Saudi Arabia did not pass the first exam and continue his study in ALI). You can find all the cost in University web site. Here is what I calculate it: 6 month English study fee: $5980; room: $700 per month; meals: $600 or less per month (breakfast $1: milk and bread; lunch (subway: 6-inch, $4; foot-long, $6; pizza: $3.5; bowl-to-go: $5.99; in-n-out burger: $2.99); dinner: cook by yourself: $3 to $5 should be a good meal); other cost: $200 per month ($1500 should be enough for basic need x 6 months = $9000 (not sure about student medical insurance, hopefully it is not too bad, but I think it is required by college)). You can buy a kind of reliable used car from $3000 to $20000 (the Chinese student bought a used BMW for $18000).
