married couple $100K salary, $65K after tax, he has no any deductible.
$2400 rent... that may be reasonable. But $200 a dinner?

$100K salary is not low... all the info together suggest that the problem is in his personal financial management.

If he was living in Shanghi, the result would probably the same.
