not sure "专业的地位"; but U of Alabama is generally as a whole lower-level University in USA. It is in bad location of the "southern-state" you can imagin - not many active industry area, more blacks, slow pace, hot summer, not good neighborhood, bad-designed city.

All commute is by-car, and no master-planned neighborhood.

阿拉巴马大学 is survive by attracting foreign students, Asian students, low-income black family students. Not many good white background students or top Asian students want to go.
