Greed and dumb...

1.) Greed, if you push too much on the negotiation, then the employer would just hire some1 else. Don't regret and don't beg, you've already lost your credibility and interest to the company.

2.) Dumb, it is the recruiter who hocked up the job for you, not the hiring manager, he/she is doing you a favor because he/she do it for a living, you just don't by-pass the middle-man and negotiate yourself. You just burn the bridge w/ the recruiter.
