engineers are paid straight time

Engineers are considered exempt salary employe, so, when you work more than 40 hours,  you should be paid straight time, no 1.5 overtime pay.  This is typical in US.  Therefore, if you work 60 hours a week and get paid for 60 hours, it is 100% normal.
