请教：公司这样的要求合理吗

我在一家IT公司工作近八年。由于孩子教育问题，希望由full time转为part time. 为此，公司提出以下要求：

1) She will have to resign and her current contract would be terminated

2)  She would then sign a part time contract using our new standard contract starting on the same date with the specific hours we agree with her.

我知道公司提出这一要求是因为我手上持有公司的options.  如果我辞职，根据规定我将被归入“bad leaver" 类，大部分的option将失效 。我想问一下公司这样的要求合理吗？公司还确定了我转为part time之后，"will not qualify for the option scheme". 我可以接受这一点，但是觉得让我放弃已持有的option 有点过分。
