Data analyst 的意思可以有很多

人谦虚，无论是啥工作头衔，都自称是 analyst，因为人整的是数据 -- 俺的关于 analytics 的定义：

“Using analytical tools, mainly SAS and R, digging out information embedded in data mainly through metrics construction, to deliver intelligence for business decision and operations support”

人为了让员工高兴，把接线生的 job title 叫做 analyst 也可以 -- because they need to assess what kind of issue you've got, which also relates to information, at least acquisition of information.

不要只看头衔，要看工作内容，以及内容对工作技能和经验的要求，以及总体上这些东东的市场价值。
