I already worked over 8hrs today and that guy did not tell me he is not coming today and I have to back up for him

but this morning, when someone asked me to do his work, I went to clarify with old women and she told me I need cover for him and he is out.

I really hate to argue with her, but I am also don't want keep quite period to acknowledge that I am wrong during tomorrow meeting
I need some strategy to deal with this old women
