a similar situation happened to my previous boss.

after  a few times of talking to the woman who was always being saucy to her and didn't work--the woman didn't change her
attitude and she admitted that it was hard to change, my boss said this to her, "I am sorry I can't stand you anymore,  I have to fire you."
