bored to death at work

My job is just like an "iron rice bowl".  It provides stability, and regular decent pay check.  Nobody really monitors me.  I can do it with half eye closed.  But I have to be in the office from 9-5. I don't see much change for promotion either.

I slowly lost all motivation and passion.  I don't have courage to leave the job and find my passion.  Where shall I go from here?
