agree, no matter how good of a

relation you have with your boss, once you use another offer as a threat, you have burned that bridge forever.
Don't do it.
Even if a company counters back to match or beat an offer, still move on. Don't stay there. Happened to me couple times, basically a manager said, what can I do to make you stay--at that point, all I can say is, I appreciate what you are trying to do, but I have made up my mind to move on. Maybe some time down the road, I'd like to come back and work for you again. . . .
