在米国科技公司什么样的人是做 VP 的料？

I recenly have had quite a few discussions with my colleague (老美，who is a senior marketing director) about upper management changes. A vew VPs have left the company. We chat/speculate about who can/will be the next VPs. He keeps saying: "man, this guy is not VP material."

I think the following are important:

1. Communication skils;

2. Bride experience background;

3. Can make tough decisions (business-wise and personel-wise;

4. Can multi-tasking;

5. Can kick and kiss ass if/when needed.
