Thanks a lot for your inputs.

Technically, I am at a position where I can go up one or maybe two levels. This PM position could be very influencial (much more than my technical position) if it is done right. However, as I mentioned in the previous post, it is also risky because of its high visibility. Even I believe I have the qualifications to be a PM, I am still concerned I won't match up with the previous PM's which could leave a dent on my career.
