Startup worth leaving current public company?

Hi Guys. I am in Bay area Californai.

After many years serving a public company, now there is a start up company hiring me. Same compensation but of course more responsibility.

It is know that start up would have more risks and more workload. But it also provides opportunities such as promotions and stocks.

Is it worth leaving? Any suggestions and past experiences to share?
