VC is a tough industry, the deleveraging process

of the US private equity industry has a long way to go, which definitely hurts all VC investments -- because the exit options are so limited.

In addition, many big corporations look for organic growth at the moment, rather than strategic growth, which also limits the exit strategy for VC firms.

That said, the job itself is a lot of fun -- I was in it for a little while, but then switched into the operation side. Some of my friends who were in PE or VC firms also moved into the operation side.

There are still some private funds that perform fairly well, though many smaller funds are really suffering. It's also interesting to see that some corporate funds are moving more actively over the past few months.
