My point was that I was telling her I had my life. I was not interested in my boss.

She was not demoted but moved out from her private office. I have a higher position than hers, but she does not report to me.

The department is going through restructure. Nobody is secure. that is why I think it's a tough situation to bring this up to my boss. He is promoted to a new position but not there yet. He might not be strong enough to deal with this stuff.
