ETL or salesforce.com

I have opportunity to work on either ETL (Datastage) or salesforce.com (developer/admin) in my current team. No prior experience in either of them. Which one is better (from market demand, salary potential, outsource possibility, etc. perspective)? Thanks in advance for advice!
