You need actively looking for a job and fill the EDD form every two weeks while you are collecting the unemployement benefit. If you are not in USA, you can't fill the form, so you can't get paied.

I will go to visit China first, then, start apply EDD benefit after I come back. This way I do not have to worry about it....
