Regarding bayesian, we don't use it at all. But, a lot of economists might prefer to use because it's easy to follow and implement. Traditional frequentist might not think Bayesian is statistics. One senior statistician I've worked with even doesn't give a shit about bayesian. He proundly anounced that he is a frequentist.
You have to know both to make your own adjudgement. BTW, I hate economist especially home economics major graduate pretend to be a economist.
