background check

I followed my recruiter's advice by not putting a company in which I worked for a week on my resume.My recruiter said if I put that week on my resume, I won't get any interviews because new employers will question my loyalty. However, can the new employer find out that through background check? Or I better put it on my resume or tell the new employer before they do background check?
