step down or not

Review 时头说“×××is more proficient as a Team Lead rather than a Manager”。我该怎么办？
事实是，在我被promote后不久， 头又招了一个人并让我协助她，我从没有机会施展俺的management。是step down 还是力争？请各位大侠支招。谢谢！
