It is hard for a people who doesn't has local accounting experiences to land his (her) first accounting job.
It took me about 4 months and 12 interviews to find my first accounting job. Many my classmates got offers from big 4 or other decent CPA firms, not my case. I Lived in Southern California, I started to apply Chinese-owned company, ususally they do not have very good reputation. Finally I got my offer and start my first accountant job second day after my final exam! The pay was very low, but it make my resume looks much better one year later.
I moved to other state one year later and very easy to found a CPA firm's job although pay still low.
Now, after I have 3 years experiences, the story is totally different.
