没有及时寄出失业救济金

请问各位有经验的大侠，由于缺乏经验，我没有及时寄出失业救济金"claim form",后来询问EDD(加州），安排我电话面试，需要回答如下问题：
Not mailing your calim form with the required time limits.
When did you mail your claim form?
Whu did you send it in after the return date shown on the form?

How to answer above questions? what's the better answer?

我坐在家里等失业救济金，迟迟未来，回头察看EDD的信，才发现须及时寄出“claim form",大概晚了两周多。
