For the people in Canada, the employer usually ask if you are Canadian or if you have been in Canada for more than ten years. Employer can help you to get security clearance, but you need to satisfy some requirements from your perspective. It is easy for you to get the first level. They will check five years history? as I remembered. But for the second level, you need to be here for the past ten years. Maybe there is an exception.
