Is what she said somewhat true?

If it's true to some extend, you need seriously think about how to correct it. If a boss told her/his group member in such a clear voice, it means either you have real problems or she/he wants to kick you off. But I just don't think a manager said those words just to kick you off. Sometimes, you need to calm down and think it objectively if you are perfect.
