Houston is a good place

Pretty large Chinese and Asian communities in general. Lots of Hispanics and African Americans too. It has a strong Texan culture combined with deep south Cajun feel. In short, very diverse. It can be a good or bad thing depending on what you like.

I suppose your LG is in the petro industry. There is hardly a better place for a career in that industry.

It's a place so spreaded out. There are many nice communities in the suburbas. Maybe your LG can ask the employer to get him in touch with a couple of Chinese working in the same company. That's the best way to find out.
