LZ has a visa issue, which is the biggest obstacle. She came to the US on L2 visa, which is dependent on her spouse's L1 visa, not HER being dependent on him.

That said, it doesn't sound like LZ cares much about staying in the US for the long term. Or she could have tried to convert to H1B visa, though getting H1B quota was pretty difficult.
