I am confused about your company's level. Why director is lower than AVP? Our director is VP's boss and his boss is Senior VP.
My suggestion is stay with current company if you do not want to take the risk to lose your job in case you can not transfer from contractor to Perm. With this market condition, especially if you are in finance field, you never know what is going to happen after you start your new job with a new company. The company that everyone is planning to retire there may in the process of cutting people.
In our company, we already have the black name list ready but won't do anything until next year (after our crazy time, they need people to do work right now). It is coming from top and even the big boss can not do anything to save his people.
