Good luck with your new career path.
My suggestion is that you might want to improve your understanding of the business logic part of a not-so-small corporation if you want to excel at the interface of actg and IT. In your case, finding a business reporting position might not be a bad idea. It requires working knowledge of database, accounting, business operation, and some coding (if your manager allows). IT developer is too demanding for married adults. Leave that to the young guys. Work with a system-related job. The system is better to be a new one that can last more than a decade.
