The whole purpose of this forum is discussing careers. Anyone who wants to quit can share your value in other forums, for instance, baby forum where many ladies stay at home.

Happiness is not necessarily tied to underperformance or outperformance in the career. But I don't think one should be proud of her or his underformance, which does not make sense, especially in a career forum.
