I don't know how you judge by "high pay". For example, a CPA certificate doesn't mean an accountant would get a higher pay as compared to another accountant who is not a CPA.
Big 4 has "Internal Audit" practice, CIA (or CPA) is a must for someone to be promoted to the manager level.
In Corporate, you are probably more valued if you have the right relevant job experience. Having a CIA would be a bonus to sell yourself.
