Probationary period background check
It is perfectly normal, if not customary, for employers to conduct background checks during the probationary period. Should the routine check turn up anything unsavory, the employer has the luxury of making amends per probationary period employment clauses.
This practice is practical because, in nine of ten cases, the routine background check sails through without uncovering the proverbial closet skeletons, allowing the employer to gain the employement of a highly-sought employee at the earliest time possible, yet retain the flexibility of, if the need arises, dotting the i's and crossing the t's at the last minute.
