Per the titles you mentioned, it sounds like you are in financial services industry. We all know what's going on in the market. It's too risky. Besides, if you are 2 or 3 levels below director, you are either an AVP or even associate. Think hard if you are really prepared to take it. It's likely to make your life quite miserable. A friend of mine took a much higher position than she was really ready for in CITI and had to take a fake leave of absence after only two months. She got fired a few months later.
Apparently you have been successful and confident. But think what you really want from your life. I learned it in a hard way. You have to know when to get off the track. Life is short. Go enjoy it. I have been climbing up the corporate ladder all these years and all I wish now is quit this g..damn job and travel around the world for leasure.Unfortunately, unlike you, I don't have the finacial luxury to do it right now.
