处理公司不公平待遇 (续)
I don’t know that含娜 has so many fans stepping up for her. 言论自由万岁! 她有评论权,我也有反评论权.
Thank you冬里 for your nice words. Other people might take this lightly, but my personality does not allow me to slack off. Unless I don’t take the job, if I take the job, I will give it 110% of myself.
Thanks ntking – my job story below answers your question. I did sue the 2nd company even I knew that after paying the lawyer fee from my compensation, I wouldn’t have much left. All I want is to teach the firm a lesson, which I did and I am so happy I sued them.
The first company is the first job right after school. I was lucky enough to get the job in my field. One year later, the company re-organized. As the new person with no connections, I was the first one to be laid off although I did get a pretty good package.
I was called by the HR of the 2nd firm when I was keen to get a job. Everything seemed great at the beginning like a honeymoon. Slowly I felt that my immediate boss started to give me a tough time (穿小鞋)despite the fact that I worked very hard and supported him 100%. It took me a while to figure out why – I’m smart and aggressive that he was threatened by me. I have 2 master degrees and he has a BA degree. Being a minority himself (he is a black and moved to Canada when he was young), he probably feels insecure all his life (my guess). Anyway, to make the long story short, I asked the firm’s senior partner whether I can work for anybody else rather than my boss. One week later, I was told to let-go though they told me they can make it look like re-org, blah blah blah….I hired a lawyer and sued the firm for wrongful dismissal and got more compensation as a result.
The third one is the current one. It’s through a headhunter. Again, honeymoon first 6 months, people are nice and my boss seems really like me. But I know that my boss won't be there for me after incidences happened such as separate office etc.
Having said so much, I was hoping that somebody working in the same industry could shed some insights on this topic. My friend said that US is a melting pot while Canada is a mosaic. What do you think?
