Why you would go for QA?

I am not sure which industry you are in, in IT, QA is commonly considered ranking being lower than Development, because the skillset required is low, even those people without formal diploma can do it. If you are already a developer, why you would consider to take the QA, unless there are other reasons you didn't mention.
