Take the job and use it as a leverage for your next position if your family is behind you. If you can get a $68k job, then it will be easier for you to find a $75k job that is closer to home in a few months. However, if you are making $50k, it's very likely that you won't even be considered for a $75k position.

Although my work is only 15 miles from my house, it takes me an hour each way due to crazy traffic. So if it's 50 miles and it's all highway, it's not too bad.
