I agree with you that race or sex played some role in Trump's choice. From several previous shows, one can tell that Trump does not like James that much. He did not notice Stephanie until the last. His No.1 choice, Heidi unfortunately was out of the game too early.
James is better from the perspective of project management. But Stephanie did show a lot of potential as a leader, in the sense that she can do presentation extremely well, much better than anyone else including the former winners in the show, and she always teamed with the right person to accomplish the task.
