I like your post and have the similar concerns

Hi, I like your post and have the similar issue but in the opposite direction (from warm to cold, cheap to expensive)

1. I think people easily get used to the place where they have settled inspite of other factors (weather/living cost, etc). If you no longer like Boston then it doesn't matter any more. You just want to make a change.

2. Relocation can be more stressful than you think, especially you have many other issues(a small child and a expected new born, sell/buy a house). Actually, the only big difference between B and H is the house price, but you already have a house in B, so it doesn't matter to your family. People like Houston because they don't have a house in the other place. Selling a good house and buying a cheaper one may not be even wise in the business sense. Just following others is a bad decision. I assume $92k salary is not much higher than in Boston.

3. So called good or bad place, we think the following categories: education, industry R&D, natural environment. In which area is Houston better?

4. You repeatedly mentioned babycare. You sound like a very good mother. Cold weather made people wise(they tend to think a lot) and aggressive, and warm weather made people dull(because it's too hot) and easy to get along with other people. So, what do you want your child to be? :-)

Since I'm making my decision on the opposite direction could you provide your opinions? I don't have a house and need to buy one if I move to MA.
